Anna & Boys

While the intellectual class celebrates a long weekend in the sprawling RamLila in the name of crusade against corruption, teenage boys are being groomed in the north of Srinagar in the name of the crusade against oppression.
The boys in all possibility dont know what they are doing but are more ill-advised to spoil their life in the name of god or freedom, the hero of India at the moment Anna is more than ill-advised in the hope that he is going to see a spring during the winter of his life.
The boys in Srinagar who hardly had been to proper schools neither understand the UN resolution nor the history of Kashmir but have been brain washed. Anna and his educated group in all possibility does not understand the nuances/impact of the bill they are forcing.

The boys have been told that they go direct to the heaven once their task is completed. May be Anna is advised that he will go directly across Raisina Hill once his task is accomplished.

Both the boys and Anna create maximum damage for the society by threatening supreme sacrifice. While boys could create maximum physical damage, Anna and his group are threatening to maximise the impact across the breath of India by utter disregard for the Constituent Assembly that foresaw all these. Both the boys and Anna have utter disregard for dissent agains them. Even LTTE at its peak did not bounce at dissent like what the crusaders against corruption are doing now.

While Anna's current theatrics will finish before Ganesh Chathurthi making him another hero, the boys will continue their protest and there would be no stopping in it. At least the boys are doing it without any knowledge. They are ill-advised , misguided possibly by even their parents. But the coterie around Anna if they succeed in their war is the biggest danger to India and free speech. It is the imposition of right wing ideology without wearing a saffron.

Media and Honesty

As our media participated in their own Olympic sprint to cover the bomb blasts in Mumbai, CNN-IBN interviewed one of the witness who was quite agitated and spoke extremely well. He mentioned that 'Everytime this happens, the media comes and covers for 4 days and forgets this. This is repeated failure of Chidambaram and Patil. I would ike CNN-IBN not to edit this. This is the gift Congress has given for their 50 years of rule'.

Once it was telecast, looks like the bosses got instructions from Janpath. They did not want to mention Congress rule in this and an obedient CNN-IBN edited the last statement.

Looks so disgusting that CNN-IBN did not honour the reuqest of the wtiness. More so, the bash agaisnt media was not edited and also the bash against Chidambaram.

So in all possibility, Janpath wanted the bash against Chidambaram . CNN-IBN to their credit did not consider themselves as media and so did not bother about editing the bash against them....

Mudorch is bad but can't be as dishonest as this.....

Bhopal verdict

Given that I follow most of the things happening in the country on politics/disaster/sports etc. I have never followed this properly. This may not be only me but most of the citizens of the country sans the poor victims in Bhopal. Now with the judgement being out there is lot of coverage and debate etc. in the media which is now concentrating this while waiting for the next Big Brother kind of news .....

I dont understand the judgement. I dont think I want to . But what I am quite convinced is that Congress mishandled it. The sight of Arjun Singh at this age clinging on to some post irritates me ... Arjun Singh/Rajiv Gandhi and his kitchen cabinet mishandled it and have made lakhs of people in Bhopal suffer. Rajiv Gandhi is known to have little sympathy for these things as he made the famous statement on anti - Sikh riots when his mother died.. So he must not have bothered about this....... Today just was seeing a TV debate when a Congress leader said we cannot dig 25 years back if so are we going to debate partition... highly senseless statement....

Congress has started to show true colors...... greed , corruption, pledging the country for personal gains..... Not sure how the king in waiting will behave but today we see the mishandling of Congress government and the effect of it..... The biggest irony is Rajiv Gandhi the man with no sympathy for common man , won the 1984 elections on a sympathy wave..........

Vinnaithandhi Varuvaya , Wake up Sid......

Managed to watch the above two movies in the past 3 months. One in a CD and another during a flight..... While I understand VTV (as it is populary refered these days) has a decent music and a good camera work, just could not understand how people have gone mad on that. 10 years back a similar movie based on a love story and relationship came. It was 'Alaipayuthe' and the movie really brought a change not just to the trend in Kollywood but may be impacted the culture itself of Tamilians... It was well received, had good music had a chocolate hero and good camera work and above all excellent direction. When people claim VTV is great and talks about relationships etc. I wonder what is in that . It neither had a continuity nor a seriousness associated with it. But the director and others think the movie is too good has excellent performance. May be it has a good performance considering the standard of the cast , movie buffs have to really question and may be compare/contrast these two movies. VTV has a similar and successful storyline. Christian girl/Hindu boy.... Alaigal Oviyadhillai/Kilijalgal had similar stoy line and depicted the relationships/trouble in love extremely well. VTV just does not define a story line and with the new found extravaganza of Kollywood just excels in technical part but fails miserably in a storyline. To me I will always remember the movie for that senseless dialogue between both fathers.. (Hey un payyan en ponna try pandranan.....). What a dialogue what an audacity from the director.... (or may be i have moved forward and am not in line with the dialogues of the current generation and their fathers.....)

Move next to Wake Up Sid.... I should first scold myself for ignoring this movie so long. What a movie. What a thin story line but well developed screenplay. Ok couple of scenes look foolish but it was meant to be. It had an excellent acting.. The heroine has to be commended for the performance.....Simple but still allowing quite a bit of close up shots... not may will dare to do that. And the way director has finished.... with the touch of monsoon in Mumbai and linking with the article in Mumbai Beat.... It is a piece of great direction, matured film making and a rare combination of everything that a film requires... The music towards the end was great. Everyone did well but it is a director's movie and it is as simple as it.

To finish with, comparing VTV and WakeupSid, Kollywood has to understand that the current trend of movies coming down south will not take the industry forward and there should be a serious thought on how to do good movies. Currently since the movie buffs in TN are not demanding good movies, Singam,VTV and any other movie as crap as that is running and giving returns... But to sustain on the long run and more importantly to satisfy themselves they have to start looking outside and learn.... Otherwise we will get movies only like VTV which may be praised for all its worth internally but will be fit for nothing......

Goa

There are some movies which are bad. Some irritating some meaningless some a result of stupid direction and even some a result of lack of common sense. Venkat Prabhu's 'Goa' excels in all such qualities. The movie produced under the banner of Soundarya Rajinikanth (they put that boldly in the intro) is horribly bad. It is a result of the disease Venkat Prabhu has got which makes him think that whatever movies he takes people are bound to see. Chennai - 28 was good. Saroja less than average and Goa pathetic. Venkat has started to believe that he has more than sufficient IQ to dish out the same scenes and horrible scenes in the name of comedies and a deliberate repeat scenes of his earlier movies thinking people are still awed by that. It is the same disease Rajini had when he did 'Baba' where he thought whatever he does people are there to see. While Rajini got that after so many years of career Venkat Prabhu & Co. have thought they have seen enough of everything.....

No proper plot, no proper dialogues , nonsese dialogue delivery and crap finish are the strong points of movie. Showing homo sexuality may be considered great in some circles but this one is uncalled for and is vulgar even for 18+ audience.... Venkat could have done this for a scene not for 1/4th of the movie.

Finally, if am right Rajini produced Ragavendra as his first movie. His successors through their extra intelligence and loads of money thought producing this crap vulgar movie is the novel way.......

To end to take a repeat from his own and his brother's mouth 'Enna Kodumai Sir idhu'

Misplaced Priorities

Using the lifts in Chennai is as dangerous as driving through Panagal Park. But the other day when was using the lifts just saw the messages inside the lift. There were some safety precauations for a lift that was threatening every moment both for people inside and outside.... Was wondering why those messages were not in Tamil? TN Government which is so obsessed with movies that it makes you believe that administration of the state is done from inside Four Frames Preview Theatre, never cared about these stuff but is giving concessions for keeping the movie title in Tamil. Who cared what the title was and what language it is in... Why cant the same state now restrict licenses to lift if the safety precautions were not in Tamil ..... Misplaced Priorities...

Petrol Diesel Diesel Petrol

Who is to be blamed for this crisis? Saudis or the capitalistic vultures sitting in New York or own Sonia and their clan? The blame can go to anyone in the world. But the only person responsible for this is the common man itself. As a human being we failed to live a life that is simple and best. We increased our demands and kept on adding the unreasonable expectations. When unreasonable expectations turn into basic demands this will be the situation in the world. We want sophosticated cars, we want to construct high rise buildings and use super escalators, We want air conditioners in evey room in the house. Where is the source? Did we ever care about it? The whole issue is that common man's requirements have changed and is not in tune with the reality. The worst case is the requirements are not stopping and are growing. We lived with 4 hour TV programs per day but today we have 24 hour TV programs and an average of 150 plus channels in every major country of the world. Where is this leading to? What has been the benefit of it? In terms of technology, precision we have started to spend more with no use. How many Indians are still consuming the food that was left over of last night? Is that habit still known to the current generations. There are generations that lived on those food and did not waste a single food. Today in spite of refrigerators and other technological advancements we dont care about these things and waste food. We all gather for a function and waste 20% of the food prepared for that event. Eating in hotels have increased and so the waste proportion. Did we ever care about this? How much of food is getting wasted because of the change in our social behaviour? If Bush points out we fight with him rather than doing a thorough introspection of it or understanding it in the right perspective.

In the same scenario, we Indians have to start accepting that petrol is not in our control and start living in a way that either we dont depend on that or utmost depend little on it. Till then, we can do nothing. Society that misues cellphones, computers does not deserve any subsidy....... It is best that society disintegrates and decays on its own.
